It’s not something I do very often, but it is in the works, all the same. I’ve decided to redo my old piece “The Tech-Mage Invocation of Baphomet” from scratch, this time with a more refined image of the Terraphim than of years past. It’s been nearly a year since I completed the original version, seen in the illustration archives from June of last year.
(Really? It’s only been a year since then? The singularity speeds up…)
In that year, my artistic skills have definitely shifted up a few levels, digitally as well, as well as my general esoteric knowledge. In true artistic style, the more I look at an old piece, the more flaws I notice. As a self-taught artist for the most part, it often takes me longer to note what requires changing. Plus, I can never leave well-enough alone.
This time I give it a go, I’ll be changing the style just a bit, and theming it to match my recent grayscale phase. The colors are a much later worry for this piece, but the redux started with the wings today. The body came together on another layer, probably finish that and the head tomorrow morning.
