Leather Canteen Cantanister

I came home last night from another absolutely stunning Oregon Country Fair! The weather was gorgeous, the friends I camp with are beautiful, and I returned to the city filled with optimism and cheer.

Naturally, as I settle back into the city living, I’m still inspired by the variety of creativity I’ve seen over the weekend. Today’s project turned out to be a leather holster for my canteen, which turned out pretty well, and matches the style of my headdress.

The canteen itself slides in and out easily, and the dragon is actually the leather part of a hair band I bought at the fair quite a few years ago.

While my original intention was to draw today, I cannot be too disappointed that my creativity took a turn in another direction. This years fair has recharged my reserves, and shall undoubtably continue to do so into the near future.

Cyber dragon.

I wanted to draw some dragons, that crazy craving, y’know?

I had been re-reading Dresden Codak by Aaron Diaz, and toward the end of his story Hob, I found a little bit of inspiration along the lines of what I was looking for.

In any event, it’s fan art, though I certainly put my own spin to it.

I highly recommend reading Aaron Diaz’s work over at dredencodak.com

Dragons

A sample of the drawing I was working on the past two days. These two dragons are part of the border work of my current project. One eastern, one western. After they are complete, the next two dragons will be my interpretation of northern and southern dragons. The northern will take more of a nordic influence, while the southern will likely resemble the plumed serpent quezacotl.

4 dragons for each of the basic element work, as the main figure of the Terraphim shall be riding the dragon of the 5th element.
